Revlon Colorstay Makeup w/ Softlex SPF6 in Natural Tan

Day 1: Dec. 18, 2012

When I swatched it on my hand and chin I think it's a good match or a bit light when I applied it but when it dries it's kinda darker than my skintone.

You can build it up for full coverage but you have to blend it well or else it will have patches that are heavy that are kinda noticable coz it dries fast.

I was able to coverup my blemishes with 2 layers. I don't think I need concealer that's why I always prefer to buy this foundation from Revlon.

It doesn't transfer when you dab your face with tissue but ofcourse it will transfer if you wipe it but only a little.

It doesn't feel heavy. But I think I feel a little tightness in some areas. What I don't like about this is that it leaves lines when I smile. But what you can do is don't make expressions until it dries so it won't leave lines or buff it well.

So, it's 2:35pm right now and I'll test if my face will get oily later in the evening and see what else happens.

So, my update at 7:23pm is that it's still good coverage despite that I cleaned my 75gallon fish tank. Sweat a little but didn't ruined my foundation. I think it's a little dewy but not oily. I think it's a little dark for me or ashy. I'm not sure.

Update: Dec. 19, 2012

So, I tested this again to see if it's really dark so I shaked it before I use it and I think it's a perfect match. :)

You can check pictures below for reference. :)

Pic with 3 faces:
1st pic: 1st spplication
2nd pic: after cleaning aquarium
3rd pic: after removing makeup

*I wasn't able to take a before pic coz I was so excited to try it! :) So far I'm not disappointed!

Update: Apr. 11, 2013
I've been using this mixed with my medium beige and it's closer to my skin tone. I just put a darker powder on top to match my skin tone. I just notice that I get breakouts even if I remove it with makeup remover and wash my face thoroughly. But this is the only liquid foundation that I love because it's waterproof and doesn't melt under the hot weather here in the Philippines.

Price: P500.00 from HouseOfFlair.multiply.com
Size: 30ml

Will I repurchase: Yes but in a lighter shade.

Will I recommend this product: Yes

Dupe for D&G Light Blue Eau de Toilette

A dupe for D&G Light Blue Eau de Toilette is the Lewis & Pearl Cologne in Dee Drops

Although it doesn't last all day coz it's a cologne but it smells good like D&G.

Price: Not sure coz it's not mine. But I believe it's around P50 for 50ml bottle.

Eskinol Spot-less White

short quick review of this product:
I love this toner as it really cleans my face and leaves my face smooth like I put primer on or powder. I believe it lightened my pimple scars in just a week I noticed it lightening. As you can see on the pictures below on 12-11-12 I have new pimples but that's because of the foundations I've been trying out and I believe those products is the cause of these pimples coz I havent been having these big pimples when I was using this.

Will I repurchase: Yes but I want to try the other variants. As a matter of fact I just bought the Pimple Fighting Facial Deep Cleanser. I wanna buy the Pore minimizer one but I didn't because I realized that my pores become smaller when I use this so I think it would do the same with any variant-instant pore minimizer. Both variants I've tried feels cool/refreshing after use.

Do I recommend: Yes, just focus on your main concern like if you have pimples and big pores I suggest you choose the pimple fighting.

Price: P48.75/135ml at Watson's

Avon Ideal Luminous Invisible Coverage Liquid Foundation in Pure Beige

Short quick review:
Medium to full coverage but this is not sweatproof or water resistant. Has SPF15/PA++

I think it looks good when the sun hits ur face coz it sparkles but I haven't seen my face in the mirror under the sun just at the back of my hand with the foundation I forgot to remove. Not advisable for hot/sweaty days coz it melts.
It also transfers on tissue even when I just pat it and even with powder over it.
I just wish this was transfer resistant, sweat-proof and long lasting.
I think it gives medium coverage. If you build it up to full then goodluck with that.
Maybe this would be good for night time but I would love to wear this on daytime for the sparkling effect only if this doesn't melt.

Price: P399/30g

Will I repurchase: Nope just because it's not sweatproof/water resistant.

Sophie Makeup Remover Wipes

Short quick review: So far I like this makeup remover and I always reach for this when taking my makeup off becuase it's quick and don't need to get cotton and makeup remover liquid coz it's all-in-one and it does the job. 1pc wipe is all you need for the whole face. Feels smooth after. Feels kinda sticky when it dries on your face but I washy face with my favorite Avon facial wash as it removes more dirt. It's the avon 360 White Cleanser. I'm also using the Facial Brush from Sophie to exfoliate and deeper cleanse.

Price: P115 for 1pack/20wipes
Price of Facial Brush: P95/1 brush

Will I repurchase: Yes, actually I bought my 2nd pack and I think I can't live without this. But I'd like to try other makeup remover wipes like the ELF one but it's more expensive than this.

Avon Face and Eye Makeup Remover

Short quick review:
Removes makeup but it feels oily but dries to smooth.

Price: P250/75ml

E.L.F. Beauty-On-The-Go Single Palette in Day On The Beach

Quick review of this product: I like it and the eyeshadow pigmentation is good. It will look better with a good eye primer. Affordable. Please refer to pictures.

Will I repurchase: Yes, I like the color pay-off so I wanna try other palettes. Cheaper than buying high-end. Just buy a good eye primer and you're all set!

Revlon Age Defying Makeup in Sand Beige

Product Description:
Revlon Age Defying Makeup with Botafirm SPF20 for Normal/Combination Skin in 10 Sand Beige

So here's another quick review of a Revlon product I just purchased this afternoon. I bought it coz it's on sale. I was hesitant to buy it after seeing the bottle from the stock because the liquid is separating and as far as I know when a liquid foundation is separating it means it's expired except for the MAC Face&Body Liquid Foundation because it is water based. I asked the SA if it's still in good condition but she said it just separated and needed to be shaked. I told her that I'm aware that if it looks like that then it must be expired and I also was having second thoughts because it's on sale like P200 from P800?! But she said that it was on sale because they have the new bottle for it and she showed it to me. So I bought it anyway coz I don't have any match from the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation and I was hesitant to buy the Whipped one coz I read that it doesn't last when you sweat/controls oil so I bought this one with the Colorstay Aqua which I'm liking to use.

So, what I can say about this product is that it smells yucky! I feel dizzy when I first applied this on my face coz the smell is so strong I can't take it. Smells like paint. I prefer the Colorstay Liquid. Looks dewy. Kinda matched my skintone but when I'm sprrading it it kinda turns light. Didn't have time to test the staying power coz I wanna get it off my face asap bcoz of the smell. I regret buying this but thankfully it's on sale.

Will I repurchase this: Definitely not!

Price: P275.00 on Sale
Size: 37ml

Revlon Colorstay Aqua Mineral Makeup in 070 Medium Deep

So, here's a short quick review of the product:

Feels like water/cool when it touched my face. It has shimmers/frost. Covers light to medium. Haven't tested the staying power . I intend to use this over my Revlon Colorstay in Medium Beige which is lighter than my skintone so this will match my skin but I think this is darker than my skintone when I put too much. Still can feel the water feeling when I apply this over my liquid foundation.

The powder is very light when you pour it it's like fine sand unlike other loose powders.

The brush included is soft unlike the Maybelline Mineral brush.

Will I repurchase this product: Maybe

How much: I bought it on sale P425.00/0.35oz

Clinique 3-Step Skincare in Type 3 for Combination Oily

I started my Clinique 3-Step skincare all steps in type 3 on Nov. 6, 2012. My first update on Day 1 - I can say that I didn't feel oily in the afternoon but my face looks shiny on close-up but it didn't feel greasy (just a lil bit). So I'm hoping that this skincare works for me. I was already using CCL#3 before with the Step1 and 3 in Type 2 but I think it didn't work for me because I got big pimples that won't come out. I'm not sure if it's called the cystic pimple. Anyway, if this skincare doesn't work for me then I'll go back to my Avon 360 White Skincare which is cheaper and effective although not completely flawless clear of acne but it's better to have occassional breakouts than having this cystic pimple that don't fade.

Nov. 8 Update:
Face feels smoother? I'm not sure if it's just because of the DDMGel or my fae really is getting smoother but we'll know if it's really getting better in a few more days of using this skincare. No new pimples but my previous big pimples is coming up on the surface and I don't force it to come out hoping it would get better.

Nov. 19 Update:
I recently quit using the 3-step skincare 2 days ago...:( I don't think my skin is getting better but keeps getting worse with more cystic pimples coming up and not healing. I also had this rough patch on both side of my mouth which I never had before. I'm so sad that it didn't work for me coz I had high hopes that it'll be the Holy Grail skincare like other reviewers were raving about. I also realized that my skin was already ok before using this that I don't even have to wear too much foundation but now I have to cover up double.

I was thinking of trying the CCL#2 but I don't think it'll do any better coz the Mild Soap and DDMLotion didn't even work so will it make any difference? I also considered trying the Anti-Blemish line but it's so expensive even the kit so I decided to give up this Clinique skincare.

I have used other stuff from Clinique like the lipgloss, lipstick, makeup remover, mascara and I liked it but I like the Makeup remover the best so I'll just stick to the makeup category if ever I'll buy from Clinique again.

I'm sorry Clinique but I just have to share this experience.

The "1st use" and "after 1 month use pic is from my previous post on CCL#3 which was my first try with Clinique skincare.

How to make your own Pink Lipgloss

I've been wanting to buy a Mac Lady Gaga Lipglass but haven't bought one then one day I thought I have a pink lipstick, a clear lipgloss and a lipbalm. I've been using the Maybelline lipbalm for more than a month and I love the result of smooth lips so I thought I'll make my own pink lipgloss! So, here are the items I used to make the lipgloss:

- Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow in Baby Pink (lipbalm)
- Maybelline Fruity Jelly in Pink Grape (lipgloss)
- Sophie Paris J'adore Lipstick in Summer Pink

What I did was I get a 1/4 part of the lipstick, 1/4-1/2 part of the lipgloss and 1/2 of the lipbalm. You can mix your own til you get the shade you like.

I used the Baby Lips Pink Glow so that I'll get a tint of pink just like the Etude House Tint Chou. I used the Fruity Jelly in Pink Grape because it matches the shade I want and it has shimmers. I've been wanting to use the Etude House Tint Chou but I don't like how it taste like petroleum that's why I thought of making this lipgloss. Anyways, if you know a lipgloss like Etude House Tint Chou from other brands please let me know!

So, back to the topic...

Mix the items in a small microwaveable cup to melt it and to get rid of chunks. Then when it's all melted mix it to make sure it's even then transfer it in a lipgloss container!

So, that's it! Please see below for the result of my lip gloss...

Hope you like it! And please let me know how yours turned out. Thanks!

Avon Clearskin Blemish Rescue Instant Spot Corrector

Description: Formulated with the maximum level of Salicylic Acid and Fast Clear Technology to work fast. This acne treatment helps reduce redness and swelling in just 3hrs.

*Acne control contains Salicylic Acid 2.0%

Price: P99/15ml

What I can say about this...well I can't really see the difference. I don't see that it reduce swelling and redness in just 3hrs and even a day. I don't know if this is the cause of my breakouts or the other 2 Avon Clearskin I used but I decided to stop because breakouts just keep popping up everyday and I hate it! It's supposed to clear up my skin. I don't know if this is purging but i'm not gonna take the risk an get more pimples. I'd rather go to the derma just to be sure than let my face breakout and regret. I've already had good skin before using this and I just wanted to clear up the big painful blemishes that I had. So, can't say if it's a big mistake but I'll stop using this and go back to just using the Clinique 3-step skincare. Hope my skin gets better.

Will I repurchase: Definitely not. Sorry!

Do I recommend: Nope. If it didn't work for me I wouldn't want you to take the risk and get the same result as I did.

Note: I just realized as I was checking my blemishes that the areas where the blemishes popup are the areas where I put this so I guess this was causing my blemishes. :(

Avon Clearskin Blemish Rescue Instant Care

Description: This lightweight liquid is formulated with the maximum level of salicylic acid and works synergistically with Fast Clear Technology to help clear acne. It helps reduce the look of blemish redness making acne blemishes look less noticeable in just one day. Clear up your skin and regain your confidence.

Visibly reduces redness and swelling after just 1 day. In just 3 days, leaves skin looking virtually blemish-free.

*Acne control contains Salicylic Acid 2.0%

Price: 139/15ml

What I can say about this product is that I like using this product. It has a gel consistency and I apply it on my whole face after the toner and my face feels smooth and tight but not very tight. Just feels like my pores are closed so it won't produce more oil. I've been using this for 4days now and I'm sticking with it until it's empty.

Will I repurchase: Yes!

Do I recommend: Yes! Especially to those who have oily skin.

Avon Clearskin Oil-Free Balancing Lotion

I've been thinking and figuring out how to control my oily face but I'm on a tight budget and I've been wanting to buy the Clinique Step 3: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel so when I found out that there's affordable products at Avon from the Clearskin line I went to buy this oil-free lotion that's almost like the DDMGel from Clinique.

What: Avon Clearskin Oil-Free Balancing Lotion

*Active Ingredient: Salicylic Acid 0.5%

Description on the bottle: Effective Oil-free Balancing light-weight Lotion, with Blemish Busting Technology, helps to visibly reduce the appearance of redness and blemish size. Controls excess oil and shine, providing light hydration for clear, healthy skin, all day.

Price: P189/50ml

What I can say about it is that at first use I felt it controlled my oily face but I think it's too drying so I use it after I put the Clearskin Blemish Rescue Instant Care. I'll review it separately. Anyways, so when I use this lotion it feels smooth and supple. I think it also controls the redness after applying my Clinique Clarifying Toner #3. I've been using this for 4 days and I can say I like it as it controls my oily face. 😊

Will I repurchase: Yes, if I'm not yet able to buy the Clinique Step3.Hehe!😉

Do I reccomend: Yes, it's very affordable and I recommend it to people with oily skin.

Mascara Test: Look like your're wearing False Lashes

So, I want to look like I have false lashes but don't want to wear false lashes and after searching on youtube for tutorials I've found that you can get the result by using 2 different mascaras. But I only have 2 differet mascaras which is from Maybelline: Volum' Express Turbo Boost and Clinique High Definition Lashes. And below is the result! :)

Sophie Paris Koshize Satinlips in Fierce Coral and RadiantFuchsia

Hi all!

So, I just got my order from Sophie! 2 lipsticks from their new line the Satinlips. Ofcourse I'm excited to try asap! Well, for the color I expected the Fierce Coral to be "FIERCE" but as it turned out it's like soft coral but it's okay. But it's like I got another Summer Pink shade. Oh well I almost used up my S.P. lipstick so it's ok I have backup. Anyways, as for the Radiant Fuchsia it is radiant as it said like orchid I guess. For the finish I can say it is like satin goes on smoothly, not sticky or creamy, it's matte, and doesn't feel like you have lipstick on. It's just perfect! But it smells like Chinese/Japanese face cream like "mena?". I'm not sure what it's called but I hope you get what I'm talking about. Anyways, I like it. Haven't tested it staying power but for the darker colors from Sophie J'adore Lipstick I can say the lipstick stains even if you wipe it off and the Radiant Fuchsia is the same.

Price: P240.00

Will I repurchase? Maybe (coz I like to try different lipsticks and shades and I've got a collection of Sophie lipsticks)

Do I recommend this? Yes! It's also affordable!

So, below is the swatch. Hope you like it!

Price: P50.00

Maybelline Make Up Remover - Eye & Lip

Hi! Here's another review for today! So, after using all of my Clinique makeup remover I decided to try this.

What it says on the bottle:
Efficiently removes all waterproof makeup.
Opthalmologically and Dermatologically Tested.
•Efficient & Easy: This formula instantly removes all eye and lip make up, even waterproof and non-transfer.
•Gentle: Formulated for sensitive eyes, it is especially very gentle for the delicate skin around eyes.

What I can say about this product is that it really removes my Revlon Colorstay makeup quickly! It does not have any smell, is gentle on my skin and is not oily! I just needed a small amount on a square cotton and it removed all makeup on my face.

So far I haven't found any cons for this product but I'll write an update if ever.

Will I buy this again? Yes!

Do I recommend this product? Yes, especially for those with tight budet! :)

Price: P229 for a 70ml/2.363fl. oz. bottle

Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Powder Foundation

Hi! Here's a short review of Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Shine Free Cake Powder SPF25 PA++. I love this foundation than the other powder foundation of Maybelline or other brands I've tried because it covers medium to heavy coverage. Although I still get oil on my forehead as it's normal even if I don't have makeup on it's okay I'll just retouch. :) If I want heavy coverage on my under eye area I apply Revlon Colorstay foundation under so it stays put all day. It does kinda get cakey/flakey when you apply it on your face even if I put moisturizer before I put on this foundation but since I started using Clinique Clarifying Lotion I don't get that cakey/flakey areas specially on the side of my lips.

Overall I love this product!

The only con for this product is that it cracks that's why I only buy the refill after my 1st buy of this in a compact coz it was so messy.😁

Will I buy it again? Yes, ofcourse! In fact I have it it 2 shades (Sand Beige and Honey).

Do I recommend it? Yes!

Price: P179.00 / refill
P279.00 / in compact

Note: Sorry for the blurry pic! :)

Clinique Clarifying Lotion #3 Review (updated after 1 month usage)

Hi! I just received my package w/c is the item I'll be reviewing here. I bought it from ebay.ph for P400/60ml bottle. It's from a travel set. I just wanted to try it out first before I buy the whole set especially the big bottle with pump 😉
I've been wanting to try it out so I grabbed the chance to try this small bottle for an affordable price just to try if it works for me. Also please be guided that before I bought this I tried the Skincare test from Clinique's website and I got the result of the skin type 3 which is for Combination Oily Skin. I get oily on my t-zone within the day 😔

Just so you know before I use this Clinique I'm using Avon Anew 360 White Clarifying Cleanser, Avon Anew 360 White Intensive Correcting Serum, Avon Anew 360 White Protective Day Cream SPF20 PA++ and Avon Anew 360 White Vitalizing Night Cream or I could simply say I've been using the Avon Anew 360 White skincare 😁

So, when I started using the Clinique Clarifying Lotion #3 I used Cetaphil as my facial wash in the morning then after I use my Avon Anew 360 White skincare. I'll try to use the Avon Anew 360 White Cleanser alternately.

What: Clinique Clarifying Lotion #3 for Combination Oily Skin (Step 2 of the 3-Step Skincare)

Description from Clinique's website:
Helps clear away pollution, excess oil, dulling flakes for clear, glowing skin. Helps block a blemish. Purifies pores to look cleaner, smaller. Skin grows stronger, stays clearer, healthier. Dermatologist-reformulated to be comfortable, non-drying.

What I can say about it is that it does remove dirt given that I just woke up and washed my face. It does
smell like a mild alcohol (Casino Alcohol? 😁) or medicine but I can live with that. It does not sting at all. I don't know if it's because it's not new or what but I don't know when it was bought or manufactured but I hope it still works as it's indicated on the bottle its shelflife is 24mos.

So now I'll put it to test and wait until tonight if I still get oily in the afternoon. I'll keep you posted. 😚

So, an update on 1 day of using the lotion: I still get oily in the afternoon same as before I use the CCL#3 but the big pimple bump on my right chin has decreased and is not painful when I touched it this morning so that's a good thing about this CCL and this when I put my makeup on it was not flaky as before.

So, here's my update after 1month use of CCL#3: I am happy to use this as I don't get cakey/flakey when I put my powder foundation as before I used this I always get dry patches when I put my powder foundation on. I don't get more big pimples but I do get small/tiny pimples 1s a week I think but it doesn't bother me that much as ling as it's tiny. Also if you notice on the picture some pimple marks have slightly faded but I do have this red bump on my nose because I picked on it last night. 😁 My pimples on my rright temples are not reappearing like before when I used this. I still do get oily in the middle of the day/afternoon so I wanted to try the whole set if it works better.

So, I just bought my 1st big bottle of the CCL#3 yesterday Sept. 30, 2012 at Rustan's ATC for P1,900 w/ free samples of Liquid Soap Mild(30ml) for Type2 skin and DDML(15ml). I had my skin tested by the SA and she asked what time did I put my moistrizer, I said an hour before I arrived at the store and she also touched my face to check if it's oily then she recommended CCL#2 because se said that my fae isn't that oily and it's just moisture but I said I don't like that it looks oily. I still chose the CCL#3 but she advised me that it might dry my face on the long run. So she just gave me free samples of the Liquid soap in Mild for Type 2 skin and DDML. There's no sample available of the DDMG but she said it's okay because if my skin gets dry, the DDML will give/add moisture. But she said that if my face still feels oily from the DDML then I could try the DDMG. So far after 1st use of the liquid soap and DDML I can say I like it because it really has no smell even clinical smell! But, I really don't like the look/feel of shiny even if it's not because of oil so I guess I'll try the DDMG in the future but maybe I'll try the small tube first. But maybe it's okay to use DDML before I put my makeup so it goes on smooth. Sorry for the long post but I like to give all the details. 😊 I'll post another review when I used up all the CCL#3 in 400ml I bought. So, til the next review!
